Due to a sewer line break that occurred today at the Middle School/High School, Clarke Community School District will be closed on Tuesday, January 20 to allow additional time for repairs and thorough cleaning to ensure the building is fully ready for students and staff to return. The safety and well-being of our school community remains our top priority.

The Clarke Schools Food Pantry will remain open from 4:00–5:00 PM.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.

Clarke CSD is incredibly grateful to the Clarke Area Arts Council for sponsoring another year of Artist in the School. This year, we were thrilled to welcome musician Joey Gulizia, who spent today working with the MS/HS choirs and bands!

Today, students enjoyed fun, new instruments, participating in engaging exercises, and learning from Joey’s creativity and energy. And the excitement continues—tomorrow Joey will be working with our 3rd–5th grade students at the elementary! What a fantastic opportunity to inspire a love of music across all grade levels!

Clarke IJAG officers have been busy building big ideas! 💡👏

Jocelyn Carrera-Regalado, Cesar Cisneros-Ambriz, Jaycee Shannon, Gisell Salinas, Gio Torres, Allyzon Galindo, and Charli Bassett attended the DesignDash Entrepreneurship Workshop at DMACC, hosted by the University of Iowa’s Jacobsen Institute.

They collaborated with students from other schools to identify real-world problems, develop creative solutions, and design prototypes to present to their peers. What an awesome experience in teamwork, innovation, and leadership!

In Mrs. Wright’s 8th grade Science class, students have been learning how forces can act at a distance. Yesterday, they explored how electric currents can flow in one direction—and then switch directions—to make LED lights change colors. A bright example of science in action!
