🏰✨ 4D went back in time to the Medieval Ages! Students wrapped up their CKLA unit with a fun, hands-on castle project! Working with partners, they designed castles from a shared floor plan and used their math skills to calculate the area of each room. The creativity and teamwork were incredible as they constructed and named their castles. What a fantastic way to connect math and history—awesome work, 4D!

We are so grateful for our amazing community partners! 💛

A huge thank you to Hy-Vee and Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Company for supporting Clarke High School through their Fuel Your School program! Hy-Vee also donates regularly to the Clarke Schools Food Pantry — this week we picked up a whole cart full of crackers!

Thank you to First Interstate Bank for your generosity in supporting Clarke Elementary's positive behavior system. Students can earn TRIBE tickets for showing trustworthiness, respect, integrity, bravery, and engagement — helping make our school a positive, encouraging place to learn every day!

4D has been reading the 2025 Global Read Aloud book, "Will's Race for Home" by Jewell Parker Rhodes. This is a powerful story that follows Will and his father as they journey from Texas to Oklahoma during the 1889 Land Run, hoping to build a better life and find a true home. Through Will’s eyes, students learn about courage, determination, and what it means to chase dreams even when the odds are tough. Students enjoy discussing the story’s themes of family, perseverance, and finding where you belong.

With the Global Read Aloud book, many classrooms across the country are reading the same book and connecting with each other. They share mail by writing about what they predict will happen in the book or their favorite part of the story they have read so far! The students have enjoyed connecting with other students from across the country. We have started getting mail to trickle in. Currently, we are connecting with a class from Michigan over the story!

Have you seen the new build on the corner of Garfield and Fillmore? It's the 2025-2026 Clarke Construction Trades House!

Twelve students are hard at work framing the home, which will be a 1,700 square foot, 3-bedroom home including two upstairs bathrooms and a walkout basement-- and the potential for 2 more rooms downstairs!

We love seeing our students gain hands-on, real-world experience through this incredible project!

📚✨ The Rotary Club of Osceola is keeping a wonderful tradition alive! Each year, our 3rd grade students receive their very own dictionary — and this year was no exception!

These special books are so much more than just words — they’re filled with science and math facts, information about presidents and states, sign language, braille, and so much more!

Our students were thrilled to flip through the pages and explore all the amazing things inside. Thank you, Rotary Club of Osceola, for supporting learning and curiosity in our classrooms! ❤️

Three Clarke seventh grade band members were accepted into South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (SCIBA) Honor Bands. Malikai Utley, a seventh grade clarinet player, was chosen to participate in the Leeper Band. The Leeper Band is composed of a combination of eighth grade students who auditioned to earn their place, as well as seventh grade students who were nominated by their band directors. In addition, Nolan Shields, a seventh grade flute player, and Sangvane Ford, a seventh grade clarinet player, were chosen to represent Clarke in the Kinney Band. The Kinney Band consists solely of seventh grade musicians who were nominated by their band directors.

The SCIBA Honor Band Festival will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in the auditorium at Ankeny Centennial High School in Ankeny, Iowa. Students from 75 schools located in the south central portion of Iowa will rehearse together during the afternoon and present a concert for the public in the evening. Each of the three honor bands has approximately 100 participants. The Kinney Band will perform at 6:00 PM, followed by the Leeper Band at 6:45 PM. The Modlin Band will perform at 7:30 PM. The admission fee for audience members is $3 for adults and $2 for non-participating students.
