🌟 Our 8th grade students have been diving into an exciting ARC unit on Westward Expansion! As part of their project, each student chose a group of people to become experts in, wrote a claim, and developed an argumentative essay. They then turned their arguments into interactive games, presenting their evidence and reasoning within their claims. For example, one group focused on gold miners, claiming they were hardworking individuals. The creativity and effort put into these projects have been outstanding.
Today, the 4th grade students got to visit the middle school and play the 8th grade students’ games! 🎉📚

🏃♂️🎉 First grade is having a blast in PE! 🏃♀️🎈 For their last PE class of the year, students got to pick some of their favorite activities from the year to enjoy. From riding scooters to hula hoops to the rock wall, they're having a great time staying active and having fun!

📚🌟 Clarke Elementary's 5th grade students took a deep dive into history with their English Language Arts Unit 4, focusing on civil rights. To showcase their learning, they prepared a remarkable wax museum featuring individuals who made a difference in civil rights.
From Rosa Parks to Martin Luther King Jr., these young historians brought these iconic figures to life, sharing their stories and contributions to the civil rights movement. It was a powerful and inspiring display of knowledge and empathy.

🚜🌾 Clarke Elementary had a "Bring the Farm to School Day" and it was utterly fantastic! 🐄🌟 Our students had a marvelous time learning about agriculture and getting up close and personal with farm animals. A big thank you to the Clarke Elementary Ag Club for hosting this amazing event, and to FFA for their support in planning and mentoring the elementary students!

The 5th and 6th grade spring band concert is Thursday, April 25th. Band students need to be in the 6th grade middle school band room at the high school by 6:30 for warm-up. The concert will start at 7:00pm. This is a required performance for all 5th and 6th grade band students. The doors will open by 6:00pm.

🚴♂️🎉 What a fantastic day at the bike rodeo yesterday! The sun came out, and we had a blast! A big thank you to the DEKKO Foundation, Clarke County Hospital, and the Iowa Association of Justice for donating helmets. Over 30 students received new bike helmets, and we were thrilled to give away 4 new bicycles and 1 scooter! Congratulations to the winners Skylar, Axel, Mia, Aubri and Bella! Special thanks to CCOPS, the Iowa Bike Coalition, Osceola Fire Department, Osceola Police Department, Crisis Intervention and Advocacy, and Clarke County Hospital for helping make this event such a success! Your support is truly appreciated!

🔤🎨 Exploring the letter Y in Mrs. Walker's class! 📚🔍 Yesterday, our young learners embarked on a fun journey into the world of the letter Y. They listened to an exciting story filled with plenty of Y words, then got creative by writing down words starting with Y. To top it off, they colored the letter Y using images of things that begin with Y. The classroom was buzzing with images of yards, yogurts, yarn, yo-yos, and yaks! 🌳🥄🧶 What a fantastic way to learn!
