The TAG Motivation Monday prompt a few weeks ago was “Teach Me: What can you teach Mrs. Fitz or your classmates?” 5th and 6th grade students were then given the opportunity to take over the class and teach! They had to submit and edit lesson plans, as well as make an instructional appointment date before Mrs. Fitz signed off. This opportunity aided students’ project planning and public speaking skills! Can you guess what our first “teacher” showed us? She did a great job!

It was a Zombie Apocalypse in 3B today! After a long week of Iowa Assessments students worked in group to escape from the Zombies. They had to answer Math questions that give them clues to their next cards. Congratulations to the one group that escaped!

The Elementary Student Council is working with JDRF to raise money for juvenile diabetes. We have students in our building impacted with diabetes. Similar to Pennies for Patients, we are asking for students to make donations in their classes this week. We appreciate your support.

The DaVinci Bridge Challenge was taken on by the upper grade TAG students. Their objective was to build a “bridge” with only pencils and rubber bands that would hold at least five pounds. The constraints were that they could NOT bind anything together with the rubber bands. Instead, they thought about friction, balance, and engineering. Students found this “frustrating but fun!”
