Clarke Community School District — Notice of Destruction of Special Education Records
In accordance with state and federal regulations, the Clarke Community School District will be destroying special education records for former students who were born before July 1, 2000, and who exited the district’s special education program prior to July 1, 2020. These records may include information related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, and provision of special education services as outlined under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Former students, or their legal guardians, who wish to obtain a copy of these records must submit a written request to the district by August 1, 2025. Records will be permanently destroyed after August 15, 2025.
